NUTS HUTS A UNIQUE CHEAP RESORT IN BOHOL

Panglao Island Resort, Bohol Beach Club, Bohol Diver’s Club, Alona Kew, you probably heard about these places from a friend or from famous search engines like Yahoo or Google. How about Nuts Huts, a cheap unique resort near the Loboc River? You probably haven’t heard about it. For me it is the most fascinating place in Bohol that the traveler can stay in if they want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life. In this story I will explain how I ended up staying in Nuts Huts.

After three years of being a slave in Taiwan (chuckles), I decided to explore the Philippines a bit. I said a bit because of the limited budget. The top places in my list are Palawan, Batanes, Bohol and Camiguin. Among those four, Bohol is the cheapest to go. So I choose it. I am lucky enough to know that my high school friends are going to there too. So I plan to book a flight that is the same as theirs. But my introvert side is telling me to book a flight a day before them, explore the place by myself.

Like I always do, I went to the off-the-beaten track of island. I searched the internet and looked for something unusual but at the same time budget friendly, my search engine landed on Nuts Huts Bohol. I did the research how to get there which is easy because Google has all the answer, just few search and click.

My friend’s flight is Manila-Bohol-Cebu-Manila, they are lucky enough to book a peso fare from Cebu Pacific. As a backpacker or an independent traveler I need to book my flight as cheap as possible. Manila-Cebu-Tagbilaran-Cebu-Manila is the cheapest I could find, cheap but a tiring route.

Despite the ongoing signal number three typhoon in Northern Luzon at that time, I gather all my courage to board on the plane from Manila to Cebu, then from Cebu I need to ride a ferry to Tagbilaran. The ferry took more than two hours before it hits docks to Tagbilaran Port. From there, I rode a tricycle to the Mall in the city. Across the mall is the DAO terminal it is where I have rode the bus to Carmen. The bus looked like the Pandacan bus at the back of SM Manila during rush hour the only difference is, this bus has chickens and livestock screaming. After 30 minutes at the fully packed bus I finally reach my destination, the track that leads to the place I am going. At the roadside a sign board said I have to walk 200 meters to reach my destination. Do not be surprise the road is longer than that. It took me 15 minutes to reach NUTS HUTS entrance.

Before I reached the Nuts Huts Bohol entrance I had a nice long walk to these places.

After the seem to be never ending path, I finally reach my destination but I have to take this stairs.

Finally I reach my cottage...

I need to take english lesson because my grammar sucks (where can I find a rewriter?)

I hope somehow my travel log gives you an idea that in a place like Bohol which is famous for its white sand beaches, a resort like Nuts Huts which is located near the Loboc river exist. Cheap but it can give you some peace and quiet moments with our nature.
